Governments around the world spend disproportionate components of their budget on arms production and purchase. In 2019 global military expenditures rose to $1917 billion, the largest increase in growth since 2010. Disproportionate spending on the military reduces the budget for needed investment in affordable renewable and clean energies.  In order to make necessary progress in ensuring that all citizens have access to energy sources which do not harm the environment, we need to redirect our budget priorities. We need more green technology not more guns.
